Deine Sprache Meine Gefühle

In my first year in Germany, I found a job as a Turkish teacher at a private school.

My students have to take Turkish as an elective course because of their parents` roots.

I didn’t have any prior experience working with children or teaching a language, and the children were not very interested in learning, so the lessons weren’t very enjoyable.

At the time, I was also attending German classes and experiencing my first shared home life with five roommates.

The first year of migration was very difficult, so naturally, there were many problems to describe. This mini graphic story emerged in this way.

8 pages, mini zine format.

Ismet: A collage comic with found photo

It all started when I found a handwritten note on a street in Ankara saying, “İsmet will start the change, the device is under Ismet´s pool.” From that, I built a superhero story using found photographs.
